Dr. Towne has extensive knowledge in Webster’s technique and extremity adjusting but mainly utilizes Torque Release Technique (TRT). Dr. Towne has Certified Advanced Proficiency in TRT, which has been proven through research to be the most specific, scientific chiropractic adjustment technique in the world. TRT is the only chiropractic technique that was developed from research and that being the highest form of research, a randomized controlled trial. TRT utilizes the only FDA labeled chiropractic instrument (Integrator) as being safe and effective for removal of a vertebral subluxation. Torque Release Technique is the first chiropractic technique of the new millennium and provides practice members of any age with the most gentle and reproducible chiropractic adjustments available.
Torque Release Technique has been designed as part of scientific research into the health benefits of chiropractic. It is a mixture of the ”best-of-the-best” systems of chiropractic assessment and care. Research published in one of the most respected psychiatry journals showed dramatically increased success in reducing anxiety and depression levels, and improved measurements of well-being, when Torque Release Technique Chiropractic Adjustments were received.
“TRT is a tonal technique based on constant, never ending improvement.” – Matthew McCoy, D.C. / Director of Reasearch Life University, VP Council of Chiropractic
A Torque Release Technique (TRT) adjustment can be delivered with the spine in a perfectly relaxed neutral position with the perfect amount of force: Whereas a traditional adjustment requires the spine to be stretched to a position of tension followed by the manual thrust by hand to sufficiently open the spinal joints to activate a cavitation response. Practice members enjoy the specific scientific chiropractic adjustment in a relaxed position without any force, cracking or popping sounds of manual adjustments.
TRT is a “non-manipulative” adjustment, which means there is no “popping or twisting” required. Torque Release bases its technique on gentle touch and light thrusting by hand-held instrument. This low-force adjusting method allows the nervous system to better integrate and understand new corrective information and to process it throughout the spinal cord and brain. Your spinal corrections do not stop once you get off the table. They continue as you breathe and move.
You may notice that you hear a click or feel movement in your spine later on the same day after the torque release adjustment. That’s your body realigning and correcting due to the removal of subluxations. Torque Release teaches and empowers your body to make more corrections and healing with ongoing care. Because analysis and correction are not limited to just the area of pain and symptom, integration tends to be more complete and healing experiences are deeper in all areas of the body, mind, and emotions. Torque Release releases tensions on the spinal cord by correcting subluxations of spinal segments intimately connected with the meninges or attachments of the spinal cord. It leads to profound neurological changes that benefit everyone – no matter what symptom or level of health they are currently experiencing.
The primary intent of Torque Release Technique (TRT) is to progressively reduce blockages and tension of the entire spinal system, to release trapped unresolved patterns in the body/mind, and to facilitate reintegration of the nervous system, allowing a greater expression of one’s healing and performance capabilities.
